On April 23th. Feast of the rose and the book (Catalonia's
Valentine's day). These articles are sold everywhere in
town during that day. This is one of the major festivities
in Catalonia, in which every man gives a rose to his partner
while he's correspond with a book by her. |

Popular catalan dances "Sardanes" are performed
in Sta. Cristina's
hermitage. The bands playing there (named "cobles")
use to be some of the best in this kind of music. |

Quirze. The event holds all day. In the afternoon,

July we celebrate our summer traditional festivity Santa
Cristina (Lloret's protector), St. Jaume and St. Elm,
with the traditional procession by boat to the Santa
Cristina's hermitage, where we can taste traditional
cooking "estofat" and the tipical boat racing
"S'amorra amorra". In the afternoon, traditional
dance Dança de les Almorratxes at the town
hall square. At night on the 26th at the main beach
of Lloret, fireworks. |

AUGUST |

Gran Cantada
d'Havaneres |

Sailor's songs performance in the natural stage of "Sa
Caleta" beach, with some of the best groups in "Havaneres".
Those songs, named after the capital town of Cuba La Habana,
have a lot of attachement to Lloret's tradition due to
the relation of its inhabitants with the former spanish
colony. |

SEPTEMBER |

Diada Nacional de Catalunya |

Catalan National Day. 11th September, represents for
the catalan people the commemoration of the Catalan
defeat under the Spanish Army in 1714. With the entry
of the spanish troops in Barcelona after long days of
siege, Catalan Civil Rights and Laws were abolished,
starting the spanish colonization till today. This day
is regarded as a revindication day. |

beach to Sta. Cristina's hermitage walking along Lloret's

Rally Costa Brava |

 The oldest rally competition in Spain takes place in Lloret de Mar during the month of October. This event is part of the Spanish Rally Championship and during 3 days the best drivers compete for the event. Many other activities can be found in the city during the rally days.

St. Damià, a traditional medical herbs fair.Organized

Xano" association, everybody is invited to taste
and bring home all kind of natural herbal recipies, spirits
or wine after buying a ticket (or two . . ) for the local
Lotery to support the association activities. |
